Puli Milagai or literally Tamarind-Chilli is a sauce like condiment made with chopped green chillies in a tamarind base, topped with fried mustard, lentils and oil.
The combination of tamarind's tanginess and the heat from pieces of chopped green chillies packs a bold punch.

Used as a pickle like accompaniment, Puli Milagai goes well with curd rice or idlis and dosas.
